Upon release, Spider-Man was well received. Graphics and gameplay were the main appeals, but it was condemned for its lack of innovation and use of tropes in open-world games. It feels a little too similar to the Batman franchise. Overall, this was a must play for both Spider-Man and superhero fans alike.

Critics loved this game when it came out. The graphics, gameplay, and sound were all appreciated, though the game lost some points for its lack of story and presentation. These aspects transferred very well to multiplayer as well. All this made the Gears of War app the best option for numerous awards and recognition in the years to come.

Critics had fun with this game. They praised the new mechanics, which the developers added more depth, with their difficulty and tool modding. Unfortunately, the release had some performance issues, but overall it was a great game that people poured hours into.
